Its difficult to pinpoint when my symptoms started.
Must have been many years ago.
The weight gain, changes in facial appearance was so gradual. My rings couldn't fit, my shoe size increased by 1 size. I attributed all these to my weight gain.
In 2003, I was diagnosed as having rheumatoid arthritis by a rheumatalogist . Maybe that was when the disease started.
In 2007, I had a operation , sigmoid colon resection due to diverticular disease ? another sign missed??
I'm 48 and still suffering from acne, another symptom of acromegaly. I have thick oily skin.
Headaches for as long as I can remember, really horrible ones.
my husband complains that of late I've been snoring.
Luckily no eye complaints and no tongue swelling.

PITUITARY TUMOUR
Just found out I'm having a pituitary tumour.
My dermatologist suggested doing some blood tets because he was starting me on Roaccutane.
I went to my GP who did an "aging profile" blood test which happened to include IGF-1. The result came back as 752ng/ml. This was exactly a week ago.
I managed to see the Endocrinologist the next day. He scheduled me for a MRI scan the following day.
They discovered a pituitary microadenoma about 9mm in size, so I suppose its confirmed I have acromegaly. i'm still waiting for my OGT Growth hormone test results.
